ACT NOW Museum Advocacy Update

Be an Advocate During Museum Week! Send a Letter to Congress Today.
Philadelphia will celebrate Museum Week this week in honor of AAM’s annual meeting.  If you are going, or even if you can’t make it this year, you can still participate in advocacy for museums with just a few clicks of your mouse.

  • If you’ll be in Philly, you can send emails to your Members of Congress right from the MuseumExpo trade show floor through the Contact Congress feature of AAM’s advocacy website, www.speakupformuseums.org.
  • Advocating from Home? Click HERE to learn about all the issues you can weigh in on so Congress will know how they can help museums.

It’s Easy! We provide the tools you need:  Draft letters you can personalize with information about your museum and automatic matching of your zip-code to your Members of Congress (and your state legislators!).  All you have to do is fill out an online form and emails will be sent to your elected officials.

It’s Important! The more advocates communicate to their Members of Congress about the value of museums and the issues affecting their museum, the better visibility and recognition all museums will have in Congress.
